Toledo Coin Exchange
Toledo Coin Exchange
started as a part time business in 1960 with the owner renting and using a post office box and spending many weekends setting up to buy and sell at local and major coin shows.
From this part time operation a successful business grew and a decision was made in 1980 to work full time in the coin business and rent a small store on Monroe Street, a major thoroughfare running through Toledo and Sylvania Ohio. Business continued to grow creating a need for more space, and after 6 years at this rented location there was an opportunity to buy a building close-by. The building was completely renovated with a large walk in safe, and an area set aside for buying and selling new and used jewelry and the entire inventory was moved into the new location in November of 1986. We have been at this same location for 24 years.
The main focus of our business is the buying and selling of coins and currency. We are the area's largest buyer and seller of gold, silver, platinum, bullion, bars, bags and all coins, from the newly minted state and presidential quarters to collectable U.S. coins and currency. Toledo Coin has an ever changing selection of collectable U.S. coins and currency due to a constant turnover of inventory. We can help youngsters with a beginning interest in coin collecting to senior citizens looking for specific coins with numismatic value to complete their sets or help with selling their collections. Of course, investors are always welcome. We offer an appraisal for those needing to have a collection evaluated for estate purposes and we are probate court approved. All coin transactions whether large or small are evaluated according to the current market prices listed in the Coin dealers Newsletter or Grey Sheet.
We have a foreign coin and currency department and in addition to coins we offer a full range of coin supplies, books, magazines and pricing guides at a 20% discount. We can special order supplies upon request.
The current high price of gold, silver and other precious metals has created a market for all used, unused and unwanted items. The Precious Metals License all dealers are required to have is issued annually form the State of Ohio allowing us to purchase all jewelry including gold and silver chains, bracelets, earrings, and sterling silver tea sets, vases complete sets of silverware, etc. At Toledo Coin we are known to be a strong buyer of all gold, silver and platinum jewelry. We are happy to see any of the jewelry you may wish to sell and will make you a no obligation offer to purchase. We are known to be fair in all our precious metal purchases, weighing your items on our new, Lucas County approved scales. After jewelry is weighed and the karat is determined our offer to buy is based on using the current price of gold, silver and all precious metals as shown on our computer. We are very fortunate at Toledo Coin Exchange to have many customers who are "regulars" and have been with us for many years. We appreciate their loyalty and patronage but look forward to meeting new customers and welcome the opportunity to help with any of their purchases or sales. Our employees have many years experience in the coin business and are willing to answer any questions you may have.
